Autopilot

Autopilot and Quick Start are now one window: ⚡ NEW VIDEO. Everything Autopilot did is in it:

  • Describe what to show. Under More options, write what you want during the quiet parts and on the heavy drops (for example wide shots, slow movement and close-ups, fast motion). @Subject names work too. See Text Descriptions for tips.
  • Keep your clips’ own sound. Tick Keep your clips’ own sound under More options and your clips’ audio plays under the music, in the draft and the finished video, at the Source Volume and Music Level set in the Editor. It starts ticked when Mix Original Audio is ticked in the Editor.
  • Frame clips of another shape. Clip fit under More options decides how clips shaped differently from the video are shown: Crop to fill zooms in, Blurred background shows the whole clip over a blurred copy of itself, Black bars shows the whole clip on black. It starts from the Editor’s Clip fit.
  • Render the whole song in one go. Tick Render the full video when it’s ready under More options: it skips the draft and renders the finished video, with effects, at the Quality set in the Editor (the window names it). When it’s done, ▶ Play your video and 📂 Show in folder are in the window, and Render Complete opens as after any render.
  • Use your library. Pick no videos and New video uses the videos already in your library - only those in the Editor’s Source Collection, if one is chosen.
  • Choose how long and how it builds. Next to the pace, Length makes the video run 1 to 60 minutes (your songs repeat, or it ends on a bar line before then), and Intensity lays a shape over the song: Build to the drop, Wave, Staircase, Plateau or Two peaks, or Follow the music as before. Shape it… below them opens the arc window on your song, starting from the Intensity shape: draw your own curve and mark holds, and the line next to it shows what is set (✕ goes back to Intensity). All three need Core. See Energy Arc & Holds and Rounds & Length.
  • Add a rhythm bar. Tick Add a rhythm bar under More options, pick its style and which beats it shows, and tick Click track for a tick on each one, with its level next to it. See Rhythm Bar & Click Track.
  • Only these / Never these. Under More options → Tags, Never these leaves out every clip with any of the tags you pick, and Only these builds the edit from clips with at least one of them (Core). Pick… lists your library’s tags: your Subjects and the automatic shot types. If no clip has the tags in Only these, the edit uses the rest of your library and says so.

New video saves these choices with the project, so when it opens in the Editor, Mix Original Audio, Clip fit, Length, the rhythm bar and the tags show what New video used. In the Editor, Only these and Never these are under More options → CLIPS AND AUDIO.

See Quickstart for the whole window, step by step.
